Career Highlights:

In 1991, at age 15, Marion Jones ran the 200 meters in 22.87 seconds, breaking the national high school record.

Named female high school athlete of the year by Track & Field News 1991.

Received Gatorade Circle of Champions National High School Girls Track and Field Athlete of the Year Award three years in a row - is the only athlete to win this award more than once (1991, 1992, 1993).

Won the 100m and 200m at the California State High School Meet four straight years (1990-1993).

Attended the University of North Carolina on a basketball scholarship; as the Lady Tar Heels' starting point guard and helped North Carolina win an NCAA women’s basketball title in her first year of college play (1994).

Won her first major international championships (100 metre World Champion) in Athens in 1997.

First U.S. woman to be ranked #1 simultaneously in three different events: 100m, 200m, and the long jump (1998).

Ranked #1 in the world by Track & Field News at 100m and 200m for six consecutive years (1997-2002)

Upset in the 100 m at the 2001 World Championships, her first loss in the event in years.

2001 won her fourth consecutive title in the 200m at the USA Outdoor championships and set four out of five of the fastest times in the world, as well as the 10 fastest times in the United States

Won the gold in the 200m and 4x100m events at 2001 World Championships.

2002 finished the season undefeated in all events, and was once again ranked No. 1 in the world in the 100m and 200m by Track & Field News.

Finished first in long jump during trials finished but finished disappointing fifth at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens.

Competed in the 4x100m relay but team missed a baton pass during the final race. Did not take home any medals.

Jones tests Positive for EPO in June 2006.

October 5th, 2007 - Marion Jones admits taking steroids before the 2000 Summer Olympic Games in Sydney.

October 8th, 2007 - Marion Jones returns her Olympic Medals.

Drug Allegations:

Husband (shot putter C.J. Hunter) banned from 2000 Olympics after testing positive for nandrolone.

Jones was coached by controversial speed coach Trevor Graham for years. His Sprint Capitol running organization has been riddled with drug suspensions, and he is being investigated by a federal grand jury.

Tim Montgomery (boyfriend and father of her son) broke 100 m World Record in 2002, but was later banned from the sport (and his record rescinded) after he admitted using performance enhancing drugs.

She also also worked out with coach Charlie Francis, who admitted providing drugs to Ben Johnson.

In 2003, Marion Jones gave birth to a son, Tim Jr., named after his father Tim Montgomery.

In December 2004, on ABC's 20/20 program, Victor Conte, the founder of BALCO, stated that he had supplied Jones with banned performance-enhancing drugs before, during and after the 2000 Olympics.

has raised millions of dollars, a portion of which has gone into improving Belize's sports facilities, and to the YWCA, YMCA and Big Brothers/Big Sisters in the U.S. to fund programs that encourage and aid children and teens in their pursuit of education, personal development, sports, fitness, and nutrition.
